abstract="The present paper proposes a method to provide a collision warning of a FOCWS (Forward Obstacle Collision Warning System) based on DCA (Deceleration for Collision Avoidance). First, driving simulator experiments are performed to identify a reaction time which is an essential parameter for calculation of the index. Next, we propose a new FOCWS which provides drivers with a real-time indicator of the DCA as visual information in addition to a warning sound as auditory information.
