abstract="There is a dearth of recent reviews on basketball-associated eye injuries. We systematically reviewed the literature to describe the current state of basketball-related eye injuries. After consulting with a health sciences librarian, we utilized the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines and developed a search strategy.   We included peer-reviewed studies published in English on individuals who incurred eye injuries while playing basketball. We included studies that specifically focused on the types and mechanisms, if available, of basketball-related eye injuries.
