abstract="Nurse practitioners are essential in the care of the older adult population. Older adults are at high risk for falls; therefore, nursing assessment should include psychological and physiological measures. Fear of falling is a primary psychological contributor to fall risk. The Falls Efficacy Scale International short; Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Stopping Elderly Accidents, Deaths, and Injuries fall risk scale; and Balance Tracking System (BTrackS) balance test are reliable, efficient tools for assessment. Data obtained from these multifactoral tools may inform mobility interventions and education for the patient, further meeting a national safety goal of reducing falls in the older adult population.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>",
