abstract="This report outlines the methodology used in conducting arrester bed trials with nominal 62 tonne B-Double and 64 tonne truck trailer vehicles, as well as a 78 tonne double road train, at a trial site in Gnangara, Western Australia. The trials included both end and side entry arrester beds with two arresting gravel mediums. The results indicated that these vehicles could be stopped from speeds in excess of 100 kilometers per hour and that deceleration rates up to the order of 0.5g could be achieved with rounded artificial or laterite arresting materials. <p>Language: en</p>",
