abstract="Suicidal ligature strangulation is quite rare. We report a case showing extensive congestion with hemorrhagic infarct of the tongue and bleeding from the ears. Traces at the crime scene indicated the victim was capable of action for a certain period of time. Angiography was performed before the autopsy and before removing the cable tie. The demonstration of arterial and venous perfusion conditions inside the congested area enabled an insight into the pathophysiology leading up to petechial hemorrhages. As a special unexpected feature the perfusion pressure of the compromised venous vessels underneath the ligature could also be measured during infusion of the contrast medium. © 2017, Springer Medizin Verlag GmbH.<p /><p>Language: de</p>",
