abstract="Suicide attempts and self-mutilation in administrative retention need immediate care that is often difficult. Administrative retention is a prefectural measure concerning foreigners on the way to being deported; it means a complete loss of freedom for a limited period. The physician's duty is then to guarantee the respect of human rights. Indeed, two kinds of medical situation dan lead the magistrate to lift the measure: a serious psychiatric or somatic disease or the possible break in any vital treatment due to the return to the country of origin. The diagnosis and the evaluation of such a pathological situation is often difficult, especially when behavioral troubles are concerned. The physician must combine the strict observance of deontology, a good knowledge of bounds of the law, a rigorous psychiatric evaluation.<p /><p>Language: fr</p>",
