abstract="Depression is a psychosocial disorder and its treatment includes both pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches. The treatment of depression in Singapore is similar to the practice of psychiatrists in other countries. The classes of antidepressant drugs available include the tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs), the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), the serotonin and noradrenaline re-uptake inhibitor (SNRI), the serotonin antagonist reuptake inhibitor (SARI), the noradrenergic and specific serotonergic antidepressant (NaSSA), the reversible monoamine oxidase A inhibitor (RIMA) and the norepinephrine/dopamine reuptake inhibitor (NDRI). The selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (NRI) will be available in Singapore in the near future.<p /><p>Language: en</p>",
