abstract="Nine cases of the neck injury due to suicide attempt were reported. Two cases had the history of schizophrenia and 4 cases had depressive disorder. They were all surgically treated and did not have any functional disorders postoperatively. All patients were clinically followed by psychiatrist and otolaryngologist postoperatively. Neck wound due to suicide attempt tends to be critical because of the airway damages and major vessel injuries. We presented 2 case histories of severe neck injuries. We emphasize the significance of psychiatrist's involvement in treatment after patient's discharge to prevent the recurrence of the suicide attempts.<p /><p>Language: ja</p>",
