abstract="High mortality rates in patient with epilepsy are usually reported. This higher risk is often in relation with symptomatic epilepsies but not only. This risk of mortality is also increased in children as in adults at the beginning of the disease. This paper is a short review of papers concerning the evaluation of standardized mortality ratio in some cohort studies.
