abstract="OBJECTIVE This study was conducted to know the prevailing common attitudes of clinicians in an emergency setup towards patients attempting suicide. <br><br>METHOD A 34 item questionnaire which has been used in a previous similar study was used. The data was subjected to factor analysis. <br><br>RESULTS showed marked rejection, avoidance, hostility and indifference was found. <br><br>CONCLUSION- various internal and external factors, interact to produce the negative attitude in the clinicians.
