abstract="We presented 4 cases of penetrating neck injuries that were treated between January 2012 and July 2012. Two patients attempted suicide by stabbing themselves and 2 other patients were accidentally wounded. Three of them had their necks penetrated with knives and another with a surfboard. Only 1 case had open injury of the larynx and we underwent total laryngectomy because the patient had dementia. In such cases, we must immediately diagnose the clinical status of the airway and vascular injuries, and preserve the laryngeal function to the utmost.<p /><p>Language: ja</p>",
