abstract="The adolescent lives a stage of adaptation to vertiginous changes, which represents a critical stage in the initiation and strengthening of risk behaviors. The objective was to describe the scientific production indexed in the Scopus database about mental health in university adolescents from 2018- 2020 in Latin America. The methodology was an exhaustive review of articles, using terms such as: mental health, stress, anxiety and suicide ideation. The criteria included were year, language, methodology, validated instruments, results and conclusion. The results showed 11 articles on Mental Health. Likewise, the review of the literature shows that the female sex is more vulnerable than the male sex to develop differ- ent mental disorders, which merits a timely follow-up and encouragement of specific programs for the promotion and prevention of mental health in university adolescents in order to raise their human potential. © 2020, Venezuelan Society of Pharmacology and Clinical and Therapeutic Pharmacology.
