abstract="In this review pursuing the objective of summarizing the current data on suicidal behavior of persons with borderline personality disorder, we have carried out an analysis of Russian and foreign publications on this theme. According to Western researchers, 4-10% of people suffering from this disorder die as a result of completed suicides, and about 75% of them commit suicidal attempts. The most widely recognized factors of suicidal risk for borderline personality disorder include: comorbid depressive disorders; substance use disorders; pronounced impulsivity in behavior; prior history of suicidal attempts; physical and sexual violence experienced in childhood. Attention was drawn to the fact that this problem has not been sufficiently researched in Russia. © 2021, V. Serbsky National Medical Research Centre for Psychiatry and Narcology.
