abstract="OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effect of motivational interviewing (MI) on the levels of depression and suicidal ideation in patients with depression. <br><br>METHODS Tolly 120 cases of depressive patients with suicidal ideation were randomly divided into intervention group and control group , 60 cases in each group. All the patients took antidepressants. The control group was in accordance with routine nursing , and the intervention group was in accordance with routine nursing and motivational interviewing. The Hamilton depression scale ( HAMD ) and the self-rating idea of suicide scale ( SIOSS ) were used for the assessment of both groups before and after intervention. The incidences of suicidal behaviors were compared. <br><br>RESULTS The scores of the HAMD and the SIOSS showed no significant difference before and 12 th week after intervention , the scores of the HAMD and the suicidal ideation and the SIOSS of the intervention group were significantly lower than that of the control group ( P&lt;0. 01 ). <br><br>CONCLUSION Motivational interviewing can reduce the levels of depression and suicidal ideation in the depressive patients. It plays a positive role in the prevention of suicidal behavior.<p /><p>Language: zh</p>",
