abstract="The frequency of diseases of the airways and lungs was examined in a forensic autopsy material of 441 alcoholics, who were compared with 255 controls. Lobar pneumonia was seen only in alcoholics, emphasizing alcohol abuse as a predisposing factor for this infection.
