abstract="It is well known that the main theme in Rene Girard's literary theory and project is to analyze the transition from the Old Testament to the New Testament, showing violence's unmasking of the former by the latter. Although it would be impossible to write without history, what this article strives to provide is not an analysis of violence as a historical phenomenon but an attempt to analyze violence as such. Hence, the theme of the article is to extend Girard's theory of a critique of violence in order to use it as a critique of sovereign power and law in general. Thus, the article aims to present a reflection on and discussion of political violence. <p>Language: en</p>",
