abstract="The authors compared adolescent mortalities due to external causes in two 5-year periods (from 1986-1990 and 1996-2000) in Hong Kong. Leading external causes are traffic accidents and suicide. The mortality rate is comparatively low and has decreased significantly over time. Suicide deaths are, however, on the increase.
