abstract="When a crash occurs, other factors being equal: 1) The lighter the vehicle, the less risk to other road users and 2) The heavier the vehicle, the less risk to its occupants. I see no reason why these &quot;laws&quot; would not apply over the entire spectrum of vehicle mass, from pedalcycles, through motorcycles, small cars, large cars, small and large buses, trains, etc. If you abandon your car for a motorcycle, you increase your risk but make everyone else safer.<p />",
