abstract="Persons with psychiatric disorders constitute a large and challenging group of cases coming before state medical advisory boards for driver licensing. General medical conditions of importance to driving ability often go undiagnosed in psychiatric patients. In general, assessing driving capability of persons with psychiatric disturbances is better done on the basis of functional criteria, rather than diagnostic classification. An approach to functional assessment is presented in this paper.<p />",
