abstract="Fatal injury causation, as determined by the multidisciplinary in-situ investigation of 41 motor vehicle accident fatalities, is considered. The relevance of certain crash phase motor vehicle safety standards and highway safety program standards in these fatal accidents is discussed. Specific UMMAAT case histories are briefly summarized to point up certain injury mechanisms and the involved standards.<p />",
