%X The rapid growth of urban development in coastal areas of Queensland (Australia) has significantly increased the number of people exposed to the risk of storm tides generated by tropical cyclones. To gain a better understanding of the vulnerability and risks faced by those communities, impact and consequence modelling techniques originally developed for river flooding hazards have been modified to address the storm tide hazard. These models have been integrated with GIS to provide more potent modelling and visualisation capabilities.<p />
