%X Exercising personal choice, to be involved in the decision making process, is an assumed right for most adults. But for many individuals with mental retardation, this right is exercised for them by others. Free time constitutes an opportunity to engage in recreation or leisure activities, but in years past little attention has been given to this area for senior citizens with mental retardation. This study identified the preferences of 46 senior citizens with mental retardation living in south Mississippi. Their preferences and frequencies of participation are presented and discussed.<p />
