%X Since 1953 the Japanese government has used the detector tube for measuring alcohol in the driver's breath. The early Type C detector has evolved into Type D and then Type SD (Direct Reading Detector Tube). The use of this breath test as well as that of the Portable Infrared Analyzer of Breath Alcohol is described.<p />
