%X In the year of 1977 a total of 400000 road accidents took place in Sweden, resulting in a cost of 4,6 billion Swedish crowns. 32000 of these accidents, 8 per cent, are considered to have been caused by alcohol-influenced driving, this resulting in a cost of 0.8 billion Swedish crowns, 17 per cent of the total cost.
