%X This article deals with preliminary results of the effects of the educational measure alcohol and traffic on drunken driving in the Netherlands. It appears that this measure has a number of interesting positive effects on the prevention of drunken driving and therefore on traffic safety as a whole. It seems worthwhile to continue the implementation of this measure instead of and/or next to criminal sanctions.<p />
