%X The aim of this paper is: (1) to describe the Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS-80); (2) to describe the classification of brain injuries in the ICD system (International Classification of Diseases); (3) to present an improved classification; (4) to use the elements of this classification to design an injury scale; and (5) to compare the proposed injury scale with the AIS-80.<p />
