%X Cannabis (Figure 1) is obtained from the plant Cannabis sativa, which contains many active chemicals including the tetrahydrocannabinols. Delta(9)-tetrahydrocannabinol is responsible for the psychological effects seen with cannabis use. Smoking is the usual route of abuse, but cannabis is occasionally ingested as a 'cake', made into a 'tea' or injected intravenously. Cannabis abuse is often a group activity.<p />
