%X Stress can affect operator actions and managerial decisions alike. This paper examines stress as one of the performance shaping factors which are included in human error probability. The human response to stress is described and the ways in which reliability of human performance can be safeguarded are discussed. Existing methods of reliability analysis consider operator errors including those induced by stress, but management and administrative errors caused by stress may not be adequately accounted for.<p />
