%X This article describes how the U.S. Department of Transportation is committed to ending distracted driving. The agency has created a website to raise awareness and provide information to people who want to get the facts and to help make the nation's roads safer for all motorists and therefore assist in the safety of construction and maintenance workers too. Some of the main reasons for distraction such as inattention, visual and manual internal distraction, external distraction, and electronic devices are described in the article.
