%X A simple method for quantitative measuring gaze nystagmus (Endstellnystagmus) is presented. A statistically highly significant correlation between the blood alcohol concentration and the angle of gaze deviation from the midpoint of the field of vision to provoke the nystagmus was noted, r = -0.761, p lt 0.001. An instrument was constructed named nystagmometer, where the angle of the onset of nystagmus can be measured with great accuracy.  <p> </p>  <p>DUI; DWI</p>  <p></p>
