%X Barbara Mortimer Thomas graduated in "Arts" at Sydney University in 1928, and then commenced a medical course. In her second year, however, she was chosen to represent Australia at hockey, and toured South Africa, Europe and Great Britain. She was unable to resume her medical course, and remained in London, training as a physiotherapist at St. Thomas' Hospital. She continued her work there until she was killed during the "Battle of Britain," when the hospital was bombed. I understand that she was herself keenly interested in the subject of sporting injuries, and, as an international hockey player, would have had many opportunities to deal with them. The subject of this talk would, I am sure, have interested her.<p /><p>Language: en</p>
