%X This paper describes the potential impact of a prevention model on reducing unintentional childhood injuries. Following a review of major childhood injuries and related risk factors, a complementary prevention model is elucidated. This model borrows heavily from prevention, behavioral, and community psychology frameworks. An application of the model is presented using fire emergency skills as an example.
