%X Observations were made of pedestrians crossing urban intersections with and without pedestrian signals to evaluate the effectiveness of pedestrian signals. It was found that compliance was better at intersections with pedestrian signals; that the signals provided useful information, and that an index of hazard rate was lower at intersections with pedestrian signals.<p />
