%X A survey was conducted over a five-day period on a cohort of 234 families attending a busy regional children's out-patient department in the South West of England. A significant result of the survey was that parental use of helmets strongly correlated with the use of helmets by children. In addition, income was not found to be a major factor in cycle helmet ownership except in the lowest income band.
