%X A 52-year-old multiparous woman presented to the emergency department after a scooter vehicle collision. On physical examination, she was drowsy, with respiratory distress, and had hypotension with a blood pressure of 62/45 mmHg. The patient was immediately intubated, and treated with fluid resuscitation and an emergency blood transfusion.
