%X The approach to suicide prevention recently implemented by the New York City Department of Corrections (NYDoC) is outlined. Comparisons are reported between New York City and other areas within the United States. A dramatic fall in suicide rates has been evident in the NYDoC that has not been seen elsewhere in the United States.
