%X Decapitation is a complication of extreme rarity in the event of a hanging, occurring when the constriction of the neck is preceded by a drop of several metres with a poorly stretchable line used as the hanging ligature. This paper reports 2 cases of suicidal hanging recently observed in Northeastern France. Necropsy findings and biomechanical aspects of these fatalities are discussed in the light of the existing literature.

Language: fr
