%X Trauma is one of the devastating problems of modern society. Each year, more than one million people die of trauma worldwide. In this paper, some of the recent developments in the management and research of trauma are presented: (1) Traumatology and injury epidemiology; (2) Trauma scoring and multiple injuries; (3) Blast injury and impact injury; (4) Mine injuries and firearm injury; (5) Classification of war wounds; and (6) Basic science research on trauma.
