The primary purpose of the project was to construct an educational method to inflect the attitudes of transportation planners in these countries by evaluating the efficacies of three educational heuristics for two conditions: educational efficacy and extent of inducement of positive attitudes toward implementing a BRT system. Of these methods, two were found to be effective. The first provides planners with a set of data concerning the public’s attitudes toward BRT. The second asks planners to specifically examine planning for potential BRT routing on a map. Authors explain that a combination of these efforts may be the most effective means of convincing city planners to develop BRT.
