TY - JOUR PY - 2006// TI - Red flags during home visitation: infants and toddlers JO - Journal of community health nursing A1 - Vasquez, Elias A1 - Pitts, Kathy SP - 123 EP - 131 VL - 23 IS - 2 N2 - High-risk families remain a challenge for all who provide community-based health services, particularly home visitations. The purpose of this article is to describe red flags, that is, any physical, developmental, or psychosocial findings identified during a home visit that require further evaluation or referral. The red flags were developed to increase the community-based provider's ability to assess the health status of children and to support efforts to provide home intervention services for children at risk for abuse and neglect. These red flags are useful to nurses working in collaboration with nonnursing professionals providing home visits.
