N2  - Early and unfounded stories concerning marihuana led to many sanctions being placed on the drug. They have also brought about the requirement that the drug be proved safe beyond any reasonable doubt for any consideration to be given to removing restrictive sanctions. Some of the misinformation has been dispelled by controlled studies of its effects. Present available research does not support the thesis of permanent damage, either physical or mental. Yet there appears to be no ongoing research that will adequately demonstrate the safety or the dangers of the drug.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>
