N2  - An elderly patient experienced an intracerebral bleed temporally related to the administration of syrup of ipecac. The experience of the certified regional poison centers of the American Association of Poison Control Centers shows that this is an uncommon event. The use and safety of ipecac in the elderly has not been adequately addressed in the past.
