TY - JOUR PY - 1984// TI - Was "the incredible suicide by axe blows" in reality a homicide? JO - Zeitschrift fur Rechtsmedizin A1 - Keiser-Nielsen, H. SP - 135 EP - 141 VL - 93 IS - 2 N2 - In 1935 the middle-aged wife of a farmer was found with several wounds in her head, originating from blows from an axe that was found nearby. The death was accepted as a "most unusual case of suicide" and was reported by Willy Munck in this journal (27:308-318, 1937). The present author, who at that time was a young medical student and dealt with the victim in hospital, was of another opinion but tried in vain to have the case re-considered. On the basis of some original observations, it is suggested that "the unusual suicide" should rightly be considered as a murder case.
