TY - JOUR PY - 1989// TI - Incapacitation and fires JO - American journal of forensic medicine and pathology A1 - Hill, I. R. SP - 49 EP - 53 VL - 10 IS - 1 N2 - Traditionally quoted levels of the products of combustion are too high to account for all the problems of incapacitation and death in fires. Because people may not die instantly in a fire, they can continue to inhale toxic gases after collapse. Collapse may occur very quickly. Experience drawn from analysing the effects of the Manchester Boeing 737 accident and a building fire are used to debate this issue.
