TY - JOUR PY - 1989// TI - Children Act, 1989 (No. 18 of 1989), 9 November 1989 JO - Annual review of population law SP - 100 EP - 100 VL - 16 IS - N2 - This Irish Act provides that a Health Board is a "fit person" within the meaning of the Children Act 1908 and thus has authority to take into its care neglected, ill-treated, and abused children. The Act was passed in response to an Irish Supreme Court decision, The State (D.) v.
