N2  - A pilot public education campaign against drink-driving directed towards 18-24-year-old men in Wollongong in 1982 is described. Analysis suggested significant behavioural change in the target group. This was shown by a reduction in traffic accidents and by some reduction in drink-driving convictions. While a comparative assessment of the knowledge and attitudes of the community before and after the campaign showed a marked awareness of the campaign, attitudinal changes to drink-driving were equivocal.
