SP - 165 EP - 171 VL - 19 IS - 2 N2 - Two hundred and fifty-nine general law enforcement agencies were asked to report the lawsuits and agency-investigated complaints their officers had experienced during a one-year period. Five types of complaints were analyzed with regard to: frequency, distribution among agencies and officers, and sustainment. One hundred and sixty-five agencies, representing 3,515 officers, reported that 437 officers received 691 complaints.
