TY - JOUR PY - 1992// TI - First-time and multiple-DWI offenders: A comparison of criminal history records and BAC levels JO - Journal of criminal justice A1 - Gould, L. A. A1 - Gould, KH SP - 527 EP - 539 VL - 20 IS - 6 N2 - This study compared first-time DWI offenders to those individuals with multiple DWI offenses. The hypothesis was that the population of DWI offenders is not homogeneous and that the multiple DWI- offenders would show greater evidence of global criminality. The hypothesis was grounded in the theory of generality of deviance. The means of comparison were the numbers and types of arrests plus examination of the blood alcohol levels at the time of arrest. The findings indicate support for the hypothesis.
