N2  - An attempt was made to delineate which set of delinquent youths' characteristics were best capable of predicting failure on a community-based programme. A first (Exploration) phase generated a discriminant function comprising the items, Predominantly delinquent close friends, Perceives others as happier than self, Club membership and School truancy pattern.
