TY - JOUR PY - 1995// TI - A Cultural Exchange of Values JO - Activities, adaptation and aging A1 - McKee, Pamela L. SP - 17 EP - 26 VL - 19 IS - 2 N2 - The aged in various cultures assume the responsibility to teach values to each generation within the family. In most instances, these values are taught through stories and proverbs that are handed down from one generation to another and become the comerstone of Life lessons for members of that family. "Don't make your eye long behind anything you see anyone has, since you do not know if they hold the Devil by his tail to get it and you may not want to pay the same price," was one of the proverbs shared by my grandmother, great-aunts, aunts and mother to ensure that one was not jealous or envious of material things owned by others.
